Privacy Policy · Effective 17 August 2026 · Operated by Ordinary World Limited (England) · Terms of Use & SMS Terms

This Privacy Policy explains what information StrikeWatch ("we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. StrikeWatch is operated by Ordinary World Limited, a company registered in England, 4th Floor, 100 Fenchurch Street, London EC3M 5JD. Contact: nick@ordinaryworld.co.uk.

SMS / text-message alerts — the short version

Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent collected for StrikeWatch alerts are used only to deliver the lightning alert service you enrolled in. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except where required to deliver the messages (our SMS carrier, Twilio) or by law. You can stop at any time by replying STOP.

1. Who this policy covers

It covers (a) visitors to strikewatch.app and its pages, (b) business customers and prospects who contact us or enrol a venue in the StrikeWatch alert service, and (c) individual staff members whose mobile numbers are enrolled to receive lightning alerts for a venue.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Website visitors

2.2 Business enquiries and customers

2.3 SMS alert recipients

3. How we use information

We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell it.

4. SMS programme details

5. Sharing

We share personal information only with the service providers needed to run StrikeWatch, acting on our instructions: Twilio (SMS delivery), Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), and Google Workspace (email). Lightning data is supplied by Vaisala Xweather; requests to that service carry venue coordinates but no personal identifiers. We may disclose information if required by law. We never share, sell or rent mobile numbers or SMS consent data to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

6. Retention

Enquiry data is kept while we have an active relationship or ongoing conversation, then deleted or anonymised. SMS enrolment data is kept while the recipient is enrolled and for up to 24 months after opt-out to evidence consent and opt-out handling. Venue alert audit logs are kept for the duration of the customer relationship plus 6 years, as they may be needed as safety records.

7. Legal basis (UK/EU) and your rights

Where UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies: we process enquiry and customer data to perform a contract or take steps at your request; SMS enrolment data on the basis of your consent; and server logs and security data on the basis of legitimate interest. You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local supervisory authority. Contact nick@ordinaryworld.co.uk.

US residents: we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. You may request access to or deletion of your information at the address above.

8. International transfers

Ordinary World Limited is based in England; our service providers process data in the United States and the EU under appropriate safeguards (including standard contractual clauses where required).

9. Children

StrikeWatch is a business service and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly enrol anyone under 18 in SMS alerts.

10. Changes

We will post any changes here with a new effective date. Material changes affecting SMS recipients will be notified by message or email.
